DBT Techniques to Enhance Communication Among Family Members
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is among the most effective treatment for people struggling with the behaviors and symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) and emotional dysregulation. It is also useful in addressing many other mental health concerns, including substance abuse, eating disorders, and depression.
This presentation will provide an overview of the basic tenets of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). The presenters will discuss how therapists can help family members employ DBT techniques to enhance communication with loved ones who experience emotion dysregulation. Case examples will be provided.
