Clearview Treatment Programs and Clearview Women’s Center sponsors and participates in conferences, workshops, and other industry events throughout the year. Below is a list of just some of the industry events with which we’ve been involved.
NEA-BPD Healing Hearts of Families Workshop
Clearview is an annual sponsor of the NEA-BPD and The Council on Alcohol and Drugs Houston yearly Healing Hearts of Families workshop in Houston. The workshop aims to help families and friends of those with Borderline Personality Disorder or emotional dysregulation learn skills to rekindle their relationships and better understand their loved one’s feelings and actions.
NEA-BPD Call-in Lecture Series
Clearview is a regular sponsor of the NEA-BPD’s call-in lecture series, which provides education to the community and features weekly lectures with experts in Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) treatment. Topics include those related to research on BPD, co-occurring disorders, and exploration of therapies used to treat BPD.
NEA-BPD Family Connections
Several Clearview staff members are trained leaders in Family Connections, a free service offered by NEA-BPD to provide education and training to families affected by BPD. Clearview has hosted Family Connections at its Venice Beach facility, and has co-sponsored Family Connections Leader Training in Los Angeles.
North American Society for the Study of Personality Disorders (NASSPD) Annual Conference
Clearview is a yearly sponsor of the NASSPD Annual Conference, held on the East Coast. The conference presents mental health professionals with the latest information on personality disorder treatment, research, and co-occurring disorders.
Linehan Institute Benefit
Clearview is an annual sponsor of the Linehan Institute Benefit in New York City. Clearview’s Executive Director, Michael Roy, also sits on the Benefit Planning Committee. The benefit aims to help expand DBT education and training, provide compassionate resources to those who suffer, and support new collaborations in research of science-based treatments.
Association for Behavioral and Cognitive Therapies (ABCT) Annual Convention
Clearview exhibits yearly at the ABCT Annual Convention. ABCT’s annual convention brings the cognitive-behavioral community together to explore current developments in research and practice and to discuss issues that surround CBT and how it intersects with other disciplines.
International Society for the Improvement and Teaching of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (ISITDBT) Annual Conference
Clearview attends the ISITDBT Annual Conference, which is held as part of the ABCT Annual Convention. The ISITDBT conference provides workshops for clinical development of DBT skills and DBT program development, as well as research panels to disseminate information about the ongoing evidence base that underlies DBT.
West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders (WCSAD)
The West Coast Symposium on Addictive Disorders is one of the largest addiction conferences in the country. Held annually in La Quinta, Calif., the two-and-a-half-day event is dedicated to continuing education and networking in the field of addictions. Clearview exhibits at the conference annually, and has had clinical staff speak on Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).
National Conference on Addiction Disorders (NCAD)
The National Conference on Addictions Disorders (NCAD) is an annual event that brings together addiction and mental health treatment professionals to network and receive ongoing education. The conference is held in a different city each year, and Clearview has participated as an exhibitor. Clearview clinical staff has also presented at NCAD on the topic of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) in substance abuse treatment.
Hazelden Betty Ford Women’s Symposium at UCLA
Clearview is an annual sponsor of the Hazelden Betty Ford Women’s Symposium held at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). The symposium is a one-day event that features leading experts and noted authors who share research and insights in the fields of addiction, behavioral health, and women’s issues.
National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) Events
Clearview has a long-time relationship with NAMI. Clearview is an annual sponsor of NAMI Walks Los Angeles, has sponsored NAMI Westside LA’s Pathway to Wellness Conference, and has exhibited at NAMI’s Annual Conference. Clearview’s clinical staff has presented at NAMI Westside LA’s speaker series on topics related to Borderline Personality Disorder and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) Events
Clearview has been a long-standing supporter and member of CAMFT, and has been a sponsor at the CAMFT statewide annual conference. Clearview is most actively involved in the Los Angeles chapter of CAMFT, and annually sponsors the LA CAMFT Law & Ethics Workshop, summer social, and various other events. Clearview often hosts LA CAMFT events at Clearview Center in Venice Beach.
Clearview also sponsors Orange County CAMFT’s Everything MFT conference and has sponsored the San Gabriel Valley CAMFT Law & Ethics Workshop. Clearview clinicians have spoken at CAMFT events on various topics.
Group Psychotherapy Association of Los Angeles (GPALA) Events
Clearview has sponsored and exhibited at the GPALA annual conference. Clearview regularly hosts the GPALA Principles Course and various other GPALA events. GPALA works to advance training, research, education, and consultation in group psychotherapy.
Adolescent & Young Adult Resources Network (AYARN)
Clearview, along with Insight Treatment Programs, formed the Adolescent & Young Adult Resources Network in 2008. AYARN holds three events per year at Clearview and Insight’s locations to provide networking opportunities and continuing education for addiction and mental health treatment professionals.
Women’s Association for Addiction Treatment (WAAT) Events
Clearview is an active member in WAAT, a membership organization of professional women in the field of addiction. Clearview participates annually in WAAT’s yearly conference, both sponsoring and often having clinical staff present. Clearview’s outreach team regularly attends WAAT meetings in Los Angeles and Orange County, and holds positions on the local WAAT boards.
Nevada Psychological Association (NPA) DBT Training
Clearview has co-sponsored the Nevada Psychological Association’s annual Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) training in Las Vegas, also sending clinical staff to the DBT training to strengthen their DBT skills. The NPA is made up of psychologists, psychology students, and others interested in psychology and the mental health field.
Los Angeles County Psychological Association (LACPA) Annual Convention
Clearview has sponsored and exhibited at the LACPA Annual Convention in Culver City. LACPA represents more than 4,000 licensed psychologists within Los Angeles County.
California Psychological Association (CPA) Annual Convention
Clearview has sponsored and exhibited at the CPA annual convention. The CPA is the state’s professional association for licensed psychologists and others affiliated with the delivery of psychological services. Clearview is approved by the CPA to provide continuing professional education for psychologists.
National Association of Social Workers (NASW) California Chapter Annual Conference
Clearview has sponsored and exhibited at the NASW California Chapter Annual Conference. NASW is the largest membership organization of professional social workers in the world and aims to enhance the professional growth and development of its members, to create and maintain professional standards, and to advance sound social policies.
The Integrated Care Training Project Annual Statewide Conference
The Integrated Care Training Project is a collaboration between the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health and UCLA’s Integrated Substance Abuse Programs that aims to strengthen the mental health system by increasing the skills and knowledge of its workforce. Clearview clinical staff has presented on DBT and substance abuse at the annual statewide conference.
Clearview has hosted fundraisers for several nonprofit organizations, most notably the National Education Alliance on Borderline Personality Disorder (NEA-BPD) and the Global Adolescent Project, which provides services to children in need in Haiti.
