Beginnings in Outpatient Treatment

Clearview Treatment Programs began as an outpatient treatment program in Los Angeles to help those struggling with both an addiction or mental illness. Clearview was also created as a program to bridge the gap between 30-day residential treatment programs and home, both to help reduce the chance of relapse and to help clients reintegrate into their community before returning home. Clearview’s outpatient treatment program met and exceeded those goals, becoming one of the most long-standing outpatient programs in Southern California. Clearview’s Outpatient Treatment Center now includes individualized partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient programs to treat mental health disorders, addiction, and dual diagnosis.

Expansion to Dual Diagnosis Residential Treatment

In 2004, Clearview expanded its offerings into residential treatment and opened a residential extended care program in Venice Beach for adults of all genders struggling with a dual diagnosis.

This program was designed to treat complex co-occurring disorders, and to extend a client’s time in treatment to provide them more support and structure before returning home after a 30-day treatment program.

In 2005, Clearview opened its Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center, also in Venice Beach. Designed to help clients build the skills needed to transition to the next phase of treatment while recovering from their disorders, this program filled a need in Los Angeles for treating complex co-occurring disorders in a primary care setting.

A decade later, these programs have evolved into premier evidence-based treatment programs that have helped hundreds of men and women succeed in their recovery.

Specialized Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) Residential Treatment for Women

Clearview recognized that women with a borderline personality disorder (BPD) weren’t getting their needs met in other conventional dual diagnosis treatment programs, they set out to create a program specifically designed for women with this disorder.

Clearview Women’s Treatment Center opened in 2008 in Venice Beach and has become one of the most well-regarded BPD treatment centers in the world. With a foundation of dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), Clearview Women’s Treatment Center helps women learn the skills needed to better manage their BPD symptoms and ensure sustained recovery.

Venice Beach

Why Venice Beach?

Both Clearview’s Dual Diagnosis Treatment Center and Women’s Treatment Center are in Venice Beach, less than one mile from the coast. While many treatment programs on the coast are secluded, Clearview recognized that clients benefit from being immersed in a real-world environment.

With its locations in Venice Beach, clients can confront triggers while in a safe residential setting. They can also focus on gradual re-emersion into the community via passes and outings. Clients can get assistance with work, school, and volunteer opportunities in the nearby area.

Involvement in the Community

Clearview’s commitment to treatment extends beyond its physical programs and their skilled clinical teams often provide education in the form of workshops and in-service trainings to other clinicians around the country. They are also regularly selected to speak at national conferences to share their expertise and partner with a variety of nonprofits, including the National Education Alliance for Borderline Personality Disorder (NEABPD) and the National Alliance for Mental Illness (NAMI).

Part of the Odyssey Psychiatric Network

In 2020, Clearview joined the Odyssey family as part of their growing Psychiatric Network to help Clearview continue to expand their clinically-excellent services and open additional locations including their outpatient locations in Woodland Hills and Pasadena, CA.

We’re excited about what the future holds and are dedicated to continually providing the highest quality clinical care for those in need throughout the nation and world.
